How does a lizard change its color? सरडा आपला रंग कसा काय बदलतो?

                    The lizard's skin contains awning-shaped cells. They are called chromatophores. These cells contain pigment. As this pigment spreads in the cell, the size of the cell changes to some extent. Pigment when in one part of the  lizard's skin When it spreads to all cells, its skin color changes. The pigment in the cells regenerates after a while, the size of the cells near the skin becomes smaller and the skin becomes thicker. When all the nets are filled with honey, they are taken out and the honey is extracted from it. It is primarily intended to protect itself. In addition, the lizard changes color as it presses down to catch prey. Many lizards have the ability to change color. This type of color change depends to some extent on external heat and light.

                    सरड्याच्या कातडीत चांदणीच्या आकाराच्या पेशी असतात. त्यांना क्रोमॅटोफोरस' असे म्हणतात. या पेशींमध्ये रंगद्रव्य असते. पेशीत हे रंगद्रव्य पसरले की पेशीचा आकार काही प्रमाणात बदलतो. रंगद्रव्य जेव्हा सरड्याच्या कातडीच्या एका भागातल्या सर्व पेशींमध्ये पसरते तेव्हा त्याच्या कातडीचा रंग बदलतो. पेशींमधले रंगद्रव्य पुन्हा काही वेळाने एकत्र येते, कातडीलगतच्या पेशीचा आकार लहान होतो व कातडीला होतो. सर्व जाळ्या मधाने भरल्या की, त्या बाहेर काढल्या जातात आणि त्यातला मध काढून घेतला मूळचा रंग प्राप्त अनेक सरडे दगडाचा रंग, झाडा-पानांचा किवा गवताचा रंग जसा असेल त्याप्रमाणे आपला रंग बदलतात. यात प्रामुख्याने स्वतःचे रक्षण करणे हा हेतू असतो. शिवाय भक्ष्य पकडण्यासाठी दबा धरून बसताना देखील सरडा आपला रंग बदलतो. अनेक सरड्यांमध्ये रंग बदलण्याची क्षमता असते. रंग बदलण्याचा हा प्रकार काही प्रमाणात बाहेरील उष्णता व प्रकाश या दोन गोष्टींवर अवलंबून असतो.
